I currently have the 7th Edition Study guide as well and I am using it as a companion to the 11th Hour CISSP Study Guide and the Cybrary videos. And Mata4X is right the dry in the material delivery but given the type of information I can kind of understand. And, as far as the build quality goes, it seem like it will hold up well flipping around while I cover some material. BUT my one complaint about this book is, the cheap quality of the paper.
The only official, comprehensive reference guide to the CISSP. All new for 2019 and beyond, this is the authoritative common body of knowledge (CBK) from (ISC) 2 for information security professionals charged with designing, engineering, implementing, and managing the overall information security program to protect organizations from increasingly sophisticated attacks.
It is one step above the quality of a newspaper in my opinion. If you highlight anything it bleeds immediately, and God forbid you use a stickie note to mark a portion of text. It will destroy the page completely, leaving no text to re-read. One quick note about this book, it seems to provide the wrong definitions for due care and due diligence. From chapter 1:'Due care is using reasonable care to protect the interests of an organization. Due diligence is practicing the activities that maintain the due care effort. For example, due care is developing a formalized security structure containing a security policy, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures.
Due diligence is the continued application of this security structure onto the IT infrastructure of an organization.' Based on every other source I can find, this is completely backward. From Shon Harris' AIO:'Due diligence is the act of gathering the necessary information so the best decision-making activities can take place. Due care pertains to acting responsibly and “doing the right thing.” It is a legal term that defines the standards of performance that can be expected.'
